Anti-Zas3 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target Zas3 is a known alias name of the protein HIVEP zinc finger 3, encoded by the HIVEP3 gene in humans. This 2406-amino acid residue protein is reported to play a role in of transcription factor; binds to recognition signal sequences (Rss heptamer) for somatic recombination of immunoglobulin and T-cell receptor gene segments; Binds also to the kappa-B motif of gene such as S100A4, involved in cell progression and differentiation. It is localized to the nucleus and cytoplasm of the cell and features phosphorylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types.
