Anti-XIP antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the XIP antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the LAMTOR5 gene, which encodes late endosomal/lysosomal adaptor, MAPK and MTOR activator 5. This protein is known to function in the regulation of apoptosis and the regulation of gene expression, among other biological roles. The human version of XIP has a canonical amino acid length of 91 residues and a protein mass of 9.6 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the lysosomes and cytoplasm of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types.
