Anti-SNRPD antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target SNRPD is a known alias name of the protein small nuclear ribonucleoprotein D1 polypeptide, encoded by the SNRPD1 gene in humans. This 119-amino acid residue protein is reported to play a role in pre-mRNA splicing as a core component of the spliceosomal U1, U2, U4 and U5 small nuclear ribonucleoproteins (snRNPs), the building blocks of the spliceosome. It is localized to the nucleus and cytoplasm of the cell and features methylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types.
