Anti-S6mt antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the S6mt antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the MRPS6 gene, which encodes mitochondrial ribosomal protein S6. This protein is known to function in mitochondrial translation and protein translation, among other biological roles. The human version of S6mt has a canonical amino acid length of 125 residues and a protein mass of 14.2 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the mitochondria of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. S6mt is a member of the Bacterial ribosomal protein bS6 protein family.
