Anti-Pis antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the Pis antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the CDIPT gene, which encodes CDP-diacylglycerol--inositol 3-phosphatidyltransferase. This protein is known to function in metabolic processes, among other biological roles. The human version of Pis has a canonical amino acid length of 213 residues and a protein mass of 23.5 kilodaltons, although 3 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the ER and cell membrane of cells and notably expressed in many tissues, such as the adrenal gland, testis, and adipose tissue. This target antigen may also be known as PIS1.
