Anti-Hua antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target Hua is a known alias name of the protein ELAV like RNA binding protein 1, encoded by the ELAVL1 gene in humans. This 326-amino acid residue protein is reported to be a RNA-binding protein that binds to the 3'-UTR region of mRNAs and increases their stability. It is localized to the nucleus and cytoplasm of the cell and features methylated and phosphorylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is ubiquitously expressed across many tissue types.
