Anti-NIL16 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target NIL16 is a known alias name of the protein interleukin 16, encoded by the IL16 gene in humans. This 1332-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in cytokine-mediated signaling pathways and immune response pathways, among other biological processes. It is localized to the nucleus, cytoplasm, and is secreted of the cell and features cleaved post-translational modifications. It is reported to be expressed in the rectum, lymph node, colon, bone marrow, and appendix. Other synonyms for NIL16 include LCF and PRIL16. Western Blot is a widely used application for the NIL16 antibodies listed below. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
