This target is a reported synonym of the BLOC1S6 gene, which encodes biogenesis of lysosomal organelles complex 1 subunit 6. This protein is known to function in melanocyte differentiation, among other biological roles. The human version of PALLID has a canonical amino acid length of 172 residues and a protein mass of 19.7 kilodaltons, although 3 isoforms have been identified.
