Anti-Ng36 antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The Ng36 antigen is another term for the human protein euchromatic histone lysine methyltransferase 2, encoded by the EHMT2 gene. The protein is a known histone methyltransferase that specifically mono- and dimethylates 'Lys-9' of histone H3 (H3K9me1 and H3K9me2, respectively) in euchromatin. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 1210 residues and a mass of 132.4 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and chromosomes and it is reported to be expressed in all tissues examined, with high levels in fetal liver, thymus, lymph node, spleen and peripheral blood leukocytes and lower level in bone marrow. The Ng36 protein is a member of the Histone-lysine methyltransferase protein family. Other alias names for Ng36 include BAT8, C6orf30, and G9A.
