Anti-HBAC1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target HBAC1 is a known alias name of the protein adenylate cyclase 8, encoded by the ADCY8 gene in humans. This 1251-amino acid residue protein is known to catalyze the formation of cAMP in response to calcium entry leadings to cAMP signaling activation that affect processes suche as synaptic plasticity and insulin secretion. It is localized to the cell membrane of the cell and features N-glycosylated and phosphorylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is notably expressed in the brain cortex. Other synonyms for HBAC1 include AC8, AC8, and ADCY3. Western Blot is the most common application for the HBAC1 antibodies listed below. ELISA, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
