Anti-HSG antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target HSG is a known alias name of the protein mitofusin 2, encoded by the MFN2 gene in humans. This 757-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in the apoptotic pathway, among other biological processes. It is localized to the mitochondria of the cell and features ubiquitinated and phosphorylated post-translational modifications. Other synonyms for HSG include CMT2A, CMT2A2, and CMT2A2A. Some HSG antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. These antibodies are most commonly used in Western Blot experiments, among other applications.
