Anti-CT15 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the CT15 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the ADAM2 gene, which encodes ADAM metallopeptidase domain 2. This protein is known to function in cell adhesion and male gonad development, among other biological roles. The human version of CT15 has a canonical amino acid length of 735 residues and a protein mass of 82.5 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the membrane of cells and notably expressed in the testis. Other names for this target antigen include CRYN1 and CRYN2.
