Anti-CP12 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the CP12 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the CYP1A2 gene, which encodes cytochrome P450 family 1 subfamily A member 2. This protein is known to function in cholesterol metabolism and homeostasis, among other biological roles. The human version of CP12 has a canonical amino acid length of 516 residues and a protein mass of 58.4 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the ER of cells and notably expressed in the liver. This target antigen may also be known as CYPIA2. Some CP12 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
