Anti-1F5 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the 1F5 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the CD59 gene, which encodes CD59 molecule (CD59 blood group). This protein is known to function in receptor-mediated signaling pathways, among other biological roles. The human version of 1F5 has a canonical amino acid length of 128 residues and a protein mass of 14.2 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cell membrane and is secreted of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. Other names for this target antigen include 16.3A5 and EJ16. Immunohistochemistry is the most common application for the 1F5 antibodies listed below. Flow Cytometry and Western Blot are also common applications.
