Anti-1-Cys antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the 1-Cys antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the PRDX6 gene, which encodes peroxiredoxin 6. This protein is known to function in the metabolism of lipids and the response to oxidative stress, among other biological roles. The human version of 1-Cys has a canonical amino acid length of 224 residues and a protein mass of 25 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the lysosomes and cytoplasm of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. This target antigen may also be known as AOP2. Western Blot is the most common application for the 1-Cys antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
