Anti-ABCR antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target ABCR is a known alias name of the protein ATP binding cassette subfamily A member 4, encoded by the ABCA4 gene in humans. This 2273-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in the metabolism of lipids and transmembrane transport, among other biological processes. It is localized to the cytoplasmic vesicles, ER, and membrane of the cell and features N-glycosylated, cleaved and phosphorylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to have retinal-specific expression. Other synonyms for ABCR include ABC10 and ARMD2. Indicated applications for ABCR antibodies listed below include ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry.
