Anti-5-HTTLPR antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target 5-HTTLPR is a known alias name of the protein solute carrier family 6 member 4, encoded by the SLC6A4 gene in humans. This 630-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in neuronal differentiation, among other biological processes. It is localized to the cell membrane of the cell and features phosphorylated and glycosylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed in platelets. Other synonyms for 5-HTTLPR include 5-HTT, 5-HTT, and 5-HTTLPR. Some 5-HTTLPR antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, Immunohistochemistry is also a common application.
