Anti-GPIbB antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target GPIbB is a known alias name of the protein glycoprotein Ib platelet subunit beta, encoded by the GP1BB gene in humans. This 206-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in cell adhesion and receptor-mediated signaling pathways, among other biological processes. It is localized to the membrane of the cell and features glycosylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed in the heart and brain. Other synonyms for GPIbB include BDPLT1, BS, and CD42C.
