Anti-IAP3 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target IAP3 is a known alias name of the protein X-linked inhibitor of apoptosis, encoded by the XIAP gene in humans. This 497-amino acid residue protein is reported to be a multi-functional protein, which regulates not only caspases and apoptosis, but also modulates inflammatory signaling and immunity, copper homeostasis, mitogenic kinase signaling, cell proliferation, as well as cell invasion and metastasis. It is localized to the nucleus and cytoplasm of the cell and features ubiquitinated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed in colonic crypts. Other synonyms for IAP3 include API3, BIRC4, and IAP-3. Some IAP3 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
