Anti-IAP1 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the IAP1 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the BIRC3 gene, which encodes baculoviral IAP repeat containing 3. This protein is known to function in receptor-mediated signaling pathways and the regulation of apoptosis, among other biological roles. The human version of IAP1 has a canonical amino acid length of 604 residues and a protein mass of 68.4 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the nucleus and cytoplasm of cells and notably expressed in many tissues, such as the appendix and bone marrow. Other names for this target antigen include AIP1, API2, and CIAP2. Some IAP1 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
