Anti-COX8 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target COX8 is a known alias name of the protein cytochrome c oxidase subunit 8A, encoded by the COX8A gene in humans. This 69-amino acid residue protein is a known component of the cytochrome c oxidase, the last enzyme in the mitochondrial electron transport chain which drives oxidative phosphorylation. It is localized to the mitochondria of the cell. In terms of tissue expression, it is widely expressed across many tissue types. Other synonyms for COX8 include COX8-2, COX8L, MC4DN15, VIII, VIII-L, cytochrome c oxidase subunit 8A, mitochondrial, and COX. Western Blot is the most common application for the COX8 antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
