Anti-K-ras antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target K-ras is a known alias name of the protein NRAS proto-oncogene, GTPase, encoded by the NRAS gene in humans. This 189-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in MAPK cascade signaling pathways and myoblast differentiation, among other biological processes. It is localized to the Golgi and cell membrane of the cell and features glycosylated, ubiquitinated, palmitoylated, acetylated and phosphorylated post-translational modifications. Other synonyms for K-ras include ALPS4 and CMNS. Some K-ras antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
