Anti-Defensin, beta 115 antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the DEFB115 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 88 amino acid residues and a mass of 10.1 kDa. It is known to be a secreted protein. A member of the Beta-defensin protein family, it is reported to exhibit antibacterial activity. Other names for this target antigen include beta-defensin 15, defensin, beta 15, and beta-defensin 115. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat, bovine and chimpanzee species.
