Anti-COX4I2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein cytochrome c oxidase subunit 4I2. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 171 amino acid residues and a mass of 20 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria. It is reported to be highly expressed in the lung. A member of the Cytochrome c oxidase IV protein family, COX4I2 is a known component of the cytochrome c oxidase, the last enzyme in the mitochondrial electron transport chain which drives oxidative phosphorylation. The COX4I2 marker can be used to identify Lung Pericytes.* Synonyms for this target antigen include COX IV-2, cytochrome c oxidase subunit IV-like 2, and cytochrome c oxidase subunit 4 isoform 2, mitochondrial. COX4I2 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog and chimpanzee species.
