Anti-MAC30 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the MAC30 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the TMEM97 gene, which encodes transmembrane protein 97. This protein is known to function in cholesterol metabolism and homeostasis, among other biological roles. The human version of MAC30 has a canonical amino acid length of 176 residues and a protein mass of 20.8 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the nucleus and ER of cells and notably expressed in the testis, stomach, and pancreas. MAC30 is a member of the TMEM97/sigma-2 receptor protein family.
