Anti-S3-12 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the S3-12 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the PLIN4 gene, which encodes perilipin 4. This protein is believed to play a role in triacylglycerol packaging into adipocytes. The human version of S3-12 has a canonical amino acid length of 1371 residues and a protein mass of 135.9 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the cell membrane and cytoplasm of cells and notably expressed in adipose tissue and breast. S3-12 is a member of the Perilipin protein family.
