Anti-RAB18 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein RAB18, member RAS oncogene family. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 206 amino acid residues and a mass of 23 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the ER and cell membrane. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is ubiquitously expressed across many tissue types. A member of the Rab protein family, RAB18 is known to be involved with brain development and eye development. The RAB18 gene has been associated with the disease, Warburg micro syndrome. Synonyms for this target antigen include WARBM3, ras-related protein Rab-18, RAB18 small GTPase, and RAB18LI1. RAB18 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species.
