Anti-PROC1 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the PROC1 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the PROC gene, which encodes protein C, inactivator of coagulation factors Va and VIIIa. This protein is known to function in the regulation of apoptosis and proteolysis, among other biological roles. The human version of PROC1 has a canonical amino acid length of 461 residues and a protein mass of 52.1 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the ER, Golgi, and is secreted of cells. Other names for this target antigen include APC and PC. Some PROC1 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
