Anti-M-FABP antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the M-FABP antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the PMP2 gene, which encodes peripheral myelin protein 2. This protein is believed to play a role in lipid transport protein in Schwann cells. The human version of M-FABP has a canonical amino acid length of 132 residues and a protein mass of 14.9 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the cytoplasm of cells. M-FABP is a member of the Fatty-acid binding protein (FABP) protein family.
