Anti-Erd2 antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The Erd2 antigen is another term for the human protein KDEL endoplasmic reticulum protein retention receptor 1, encoded by the KDELR1 gene. The protein is a known receptor for the C-terminal sequence motif K-D-E-L that is present on endoplasmic reticulum resident proteins and that mediates their recycling from the Golgi back to the endoplasmic reticulum. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 212 residues and a mass of 24.5 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the ER, Golgi, and cytoplasmic vesicles and it is widely expressed in many tissue types. The Erd2 protein is a member of the ERD2 protein family. Other alias names for Erd2 include ERD2.1. Some Erd2 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA, Immunocytochemistry, Immunoprecipitation, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
