Anti-armadillo antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the armadillo antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the CTNNB1 gene, which encodes catenin beta 1. This protein is known to function in acinar cell differentiation and the apoptotic pathway, among other biological roles. The human version of armadillo has a canonical amino acid length of 781 residues and a protein mass of 85.5 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the cytoplasm of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. Other names for this target antigen include CTNNB, EVR7, and MRD19. A number of armadillo antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
