Anti-alpha-2M antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the alpha-2M antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the A2M gene, which encodes alpha-2-macroglobulin. This protein is known to function in stem cell differentiation, among other biological roles. The human version of alpha-2M has a canonical amino acid length of 1474 residues and a protein mass of 163.3 kilodaltons. It is reported to be a secreted protein that is notably expressed in the endometrium, colon, cerebral cortex, bronchus, and adipose tissue. Other names for this target antigen include A2MD, CPAMD5, and FWP007. Western Blot is the most common application for the alpha-2M antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
