Anti-Defb14 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target Defb14 is a known alias name of the protein defensin beta 114, encoded by the DEFB114 gene in humans. This 69-amino acid residue protein is known to have a salt-sensitive antimicrobial activity against Gram-negative bacteria, including E.coli, Gram-positive, including S.aureus, and fungi, including C.albicans. The protein is secreted and features post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed in epididymis, predominantly in the caput. Some Defb14 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. ELISA is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, Western Blot is also a common application.
