Anti-MAdCAM-1 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the MAdCAM-1 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the MADCAM1 gene, which encodes mucosal vascular addressin cell adhesion molecule 1. This protein is known to function in cell adhesion and cell matrix adhesion, among other biological roles. The human version of MAdCAM-1 has a canonical amino acid length of 382 residues and a protein mass of 40.2 kilodaltons, although 4 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the membrane of cells and notably expressed in many tissues, such as the cerebellum and colon. Other names for this target antigen include MACAM1, mucosal addressin cell adhesion molecule 1, and hMAdCAM-1. ELISA is the most common application for the MAdCAM-1 antibodies listed below. Flow Cytometry and Western Blot are also common applications.
