Anti-NTCP2 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target NTCP2 is a known alias name of the protein solute carrier family 10 member 2, encoded by the SLC10A2 gene in humans. This 348-amino acid residue protein is known to play an important role in the sodium-dependent reabsorption of bile acids from the lumen of the small intestine. It is localized to the membrane of the cell and features glycosylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be mainly expressed in ileum and kidney, lower expression in cecum. Other synonyms for NTCP2 include ASBT, ASBT, and IBAT.
