Anti-XAF1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein XIAP associated factor 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 301 amino acid residues and a mass of 34.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus, mitochondria, and cytoplasm. Up to 7 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is widely expressed across many tissue types. XAF1 is known to be involved with the apoptotic pathway. Synonyms for this target antigen include HSXIAPAF1, XIAPAF1, BIRC4-binding protein, and BIRC4BP. XAF1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of XAF1 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
