Anti-PTCD2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein pentatricopeptide repeat domain 2. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 388 amino acid residues and a mass of 44 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in many tissues, such as the duodenum and lung. A member of the PTCD2 protein family, PTCD2 is known to be involved in mitochondrial RNA maturation and mitochondrial respiratory chain function. Synonyms for this target antigen include pentatricopeptide repeat-containing protein 2, mitochondrial and CTC-365E16.1. PTCD2 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some PTCD2 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
