Anti-Complement C6 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the C6 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 934 amino acid residues and a mass of 104.8 kDa. It is known to be a secreted protein. A member of the Complement C6/C7/C8/C9 protein family, it is known to be involved with in utero embryonic development and innate immune responses. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Other names for this target antigen include complement component C6 and complement component 6.
