Anti-RO60 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein Ro60, Y RNA binding protein. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 538 amino acid residues and a mass of 60.7 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. Up to 5 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. A member of the Ro 60 kDa protein family, RO60 is reported to be a RNA-binding protein that binds to misfolded non-coding RNAs, pre-5S rRNA, and several small cytoplasmic RNA molecules known as Y RNAs. Synonyms for this target antigen include SSA2, TROVE2, RNA-binding protein RO60, 60 kDa ribonucleoprotein Ro, Ro/SSA 60kDa, and RORNP. RO60 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some RO60 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
