Anti-SSU72 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein SSU72 homolog, RNA polymerase II CTD phosphatase. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 194 amino acid residues and a mass of 22.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and cytoplasm. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 2 different isoforms for this protein. A member of a the SSU72 phosphatase protein family, SSU72 is reported to be a protein phosphatase that catalyzes the dephosphorylation of the C-terminal domain of RNA polymerase II. Synonyms for this target antigen include PNAS-120, RNA polymerase II subunit A C-terminal domain phosphatase SSU72, CTD phosphatase SSU72, and HSPC182.
