Anti-JAM3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein junctional adhesion molecule 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 310 amino acid residues and a mass of 35 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 2 different isoforms for this protein. A member of the Immunoglobulin protein superfamily, it is known to be involved with adaptive immune responses and angiogenesis. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation, palmitoylation and protein cleavage. Synonyms for this target antigen include junctional adhesion molecule C.
