Anti-PGK2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein phosphoglycerate kinase 2. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 417 amino acid residues and a mass of 44.8 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. It is notably expressed in the ovary and testis. A member of the Phosphoglycerate kinase protein family, PGK2 is known to be important for sperm motility and male fertility. Synonyms for this target antigen include PGKB, PGKPS, dJ417L20.2, epididymis secretory protein Li 272, phosphoglycerate kinase autosomal pseudogene, and HEL-S-272. PGK2 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine and chimpanzee species. A number of PGK2 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
