Anti-PACS1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein phosphofurin acidic cluster sorting protein 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 963 amino acid residues and a mass of 104.9 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the Golgi. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the PACS protein family, PACS1 is reported to be a coat protein that is involved in the localization of trans-Golgi network (TGN) membrane proteins that contain acidic cluster sorting motifs. The PACS1 gene has been associated with the disease, Schuurs-Hoeijmakers syndrome. Synonyms for this target antigen include cytosolic sorting protein PACS-1. PACS1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog and chimpanzee species.
