Anti-PGDH antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the PGDH antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the HPGD gene, which encodes 15-hydroxyprostaglandin dehydrogenase. This protein is known to function in kidney development and the regulation of apoptosis, among other biological roles. The human version of PGDH has a canonical amino acid length of 266 residues and a protein mass of 29 kilodaltons, although 5 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cytoplasm of cells and notably expressed in many tissues, such as the duodenum and lung. PGDH is a member of the Short-chain dehydrogenases/reductases (SDR) protein family.
