Anti-Peripheral myelin protein 22 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene PMP22 in humans. The gene may also be known as HNPP, DSS, CMT1E, CMT1A, and CIDP. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 17.9 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, plant, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
