Anti-NPVF antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein neuropeptide VF precursor. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 196 amino acid residues and a mass of 22.3 kDa. It has been described to be a secreted protein. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in the retina and testis. It is a member of the FARP (FMRFamide related peptide) protein family. Synonyms for this target antigen include FMRFamide-related peptide, FMRFamide-related peptides, RFamide-related peptide, neuropeptide NPVF, and pro-FMRFamide-related neuropeptide VF. NPVF gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some NPVF antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Immunohistochemistry is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA, Immunocytochemistry, and Immunofluorescence are also common applications.
