Anti-S100 calcium binding protein A1 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene S100A1 in humans. The gene may also be known as S100A, S100-alpha, S100, and protein S100-A1. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 10.5 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
