Anti-TMEM40 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein transmembrane protein 40. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 233 amino acid residues and a mass of 25.5 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the membrane. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in many tissues, such as the adrenal gland and cervix. TMEM40 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some TMEM40 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. These antibodies are most commonly used in ELISA experiments, among other applications.
