Anti-STRA6 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein signaling receptor and transporter of retinol STRA6. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 667 amino acid residues and a mass of 73.5 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 6 different isoforms for this protein. STRA6 is known to function as retinol transporter. Post-translational modifications have been described, including phosphorylation and glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include RBP receptor, retinol binding protein 4 receptor, retinol-binding protein receptor STRA6, stimulated by retinoic acid 6 homolog, and receptor for retinol uptake STRA6.
