Anti-MED22 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein mediator complex subunit 22. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 200 amino acid residues and a mass of 22.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. A member of the Mediator complex subunit 22 protein family, MED22 is a known component of the Mediator complex, a coactivator involved in the regulated transcription of nearly all RNA polymerase II-dependent genes. Synonyms for this target antigen include SRB6, SURF5, surf-5, mediator of RNA polymerase II transcription subunit 22, surfeit locus protein 5, and MED24. MED22 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. ELISA, Western Blot, Immunocytochemistry, and Immunofluorescence are common applications for MED22 antibodies.
